The FSA / DCFSA receipt app for parents

Snap a photo of every daycare, summer camp, or after-school receipt the moment you get it. FamCove tags it as FSA / DCFSA-eligible, links it to the provider, and at year-end hands you a Form 2441-ready export your benefits admin or accountant accepts straight away.

How FamCove handles FSA receipts

📸

1. Snap the receipt

Open the FamCove iOS app, tap "Add reimbursement", take a photo of the receipt. Or upload a PDF (year-end daycare statements work) on the web app. Receipt photo lives in encrypted Supabase storage.

2. Tag the category

Pick FSA / DCFSA / Form 2441 — FamCove pre-fills the most recent provider you've used. The split (which parent paid, who owes whom) is optional.

📤

3. Year-end export

In December, /tax-export rolls every tagged receipt into a CSV with provider names + TINs + amounts + dates. Submit straight to HSA Bank, WageWorks, HealthEquity, or your accountant.

Why most parents leave $5,000 on the table

The Dependent Care FSA cap is $5,000/yr for couples filing jointly, and the Child & Dependent Care Tax Credit can recover another $1,050+ for two kids. Most parents either:

  • Forget to save the receipt → no proof at submission time
  • Stuff receipts in a kitchen drawer → can't find them in March
  • Track them in a spreadsheet → forget to update it after Q1
  • Pay an accountant $300 to reconstruct the year → still missing some

Snap-and-tag at the moment of payment is the only workflow that actually survives a year. FamCove is built around it.

Frequently asked

What is an FSA receipt app?

An FSA receipt app is a phone app that lets you snap a photo of any qualifying receipt — daycare, summer camp, after-school care — and automatically tags it as FSA / DCFSA-eligible. At year-end the app generates a clean Form 2441-ready summary you submit to your benefits administrator or your accountant for the Child & Dependent Care Tax Credit.

Does FamCove handle DCFSA receipts too?

Yes. Dependent Care FSA (DCFSA) and standard FSA receipts both flow through the same FamCove receipts feature. Tag each receipt with its category (medical / school / childcare / activity) and FamCove rolls them up correctly at tax time.

Is there a free FSA receipt app?

Yes — FamCove's receipts feature is included on the free tier (5 receipts per month). The Family tier ($7.99/mo) unlocks unlimited receipts plus the Form 2441 / Schedule A export. For most families a few receipts a month is enough; heavy users (full-time daycare or summer camp) usually upgrade.

What does the IRS need for FSA / dependent care reimbursement?

The IRS expects: provider name, provider TIN (or SSN if individual), dates of care, total paid, and proof of payment. FamCove captures all five from a receipt photo + a one-time provider profile, then assembles them into the export.

Can I get receipts from my daycare digitally?

Most daycares email a year-end statement. If yours emails it, forward it to your unique FamCove inbound address (in /forward-email) and our AI extracts each line item into a tagged receipt automatically.

Does FamCove integrate with HSA Bank, WageWorks, etc.?

Not directly — FamCove generates the export file your benefits admin needs. Most FSA admins (HSA Bank, WageWorks, HealthEquity, Ameriflex) accept PDF or CSV uploads, both of which FamCove produces.
